I may not have gotten many pictures today, but we certainly had some entertainment when we stopped at a little convenience store for a snack in a place called Lacy. The proprietor assured us there were no healthy options in his store and was sorry that we had fallen on such hard times that we couldn't afford gas and had to travel by bicycle. It seemed like the sort of place that old men liked to hang out and gossip.
Obsessed much? |
The only other item of interest along the ride today was the yard of a Lions superfan. There was a lot of blue in the yard.
Most of the ride looked a lot like this.
About 315 miles down, and one more day to ride. We're at a motel in Marshall with nothing much to do around here. That may mean we'll have to get back on the bikes to go find some food. I'm counting every single mile!
You folks are amazing! Wildlife seems to be reasserting that we're at the top of the food chain, but not when humans are in small groups - squirrels, birds (remember "Jurassic Park"? and the relationship between today's birds and dinosaurs?), at least they attacked and pecked holes in the food stores and not any of you ;)
ReplyDeleteLeave it to humans to push back on your provisions attacks, by Karma-wise, planting a deer in costume on someone's lawn to give you a perk-up. See, we are top dog in this ecosystems (oh, shouldn't have said dog, huh?)
As to the comment on the lack of fairness on stepping on the pedals for 362 miles and stepping on a scale to find you've lost not a pound: I've been dieting for 6 months for Michelle's wedding. The first 3 months, giving up wine (gasp!) ice cream (no, aw . . . kidding) and I lost 8 oz. It makes me feel much better to know that I can push back on Suzie's comments of, "You're doing all the right things . . . except of course, exercising." If 362 miles didn't help you, I'm safe in staying away from the elliptical machine - probably wouldn't do any better by me then it did by you ;) Denial runs deep with this nonathletic poet.
Great job to all of you.
